William Scott Davis, better known as Scotty D, is a platinum selling songwriter and producer. This Oklahoma native has written for several publishing companies, including Collins Music, Acuff-Rose Music Publishing, Midas Music and Word Entertainment. He is capable of playing numerous instruments, as well as writing and producing a variety of styles, including Country, Pop, Rock and Christian.
In 2010, Scotty D achieved his biggest radio success yet when “What Faith Can Do” recorded by Kutless, co-written by Scotty, went to #1 for 8 weeks and remained in the top 5 on Billboard for an amazing six months! The song is also featured on the WOW Hits 2011 compilation and the 2011 WOW #1′s compilation.
His last six songs recorded by signed artists and released to radio, have all reached the Top 20 on AC/CHR radio, 5 being in the top 10 or better!
Scotty D has won multiple ASCAP awards, including the 2008 “Song Of The Year” and most recently, the 2011 BMI “Song Of The Year”. He has also been nominated for 3 Dove awards.
In 2007, Billboard recognized Scotty as one of the top producers of the year.
His company, Life Of Rhyme Productions, produced the entire Jessie Daniels album on Midas Records, which contained two singles that went #2 on the Christian charts and one at #8. The entire album was co-written by Scotty D.
In April of 2007, the song “Undo” went to #1 for 7 weeks on Billboard and as well as R&R. Both reporters dubbed it the “Most played song of 2007”. “Undo” was featured on the WOW Hits 2008 Compilation CD. Davis produced this track himself and wrote the title with Rush Of Fools. Davis also had another Top 20 that he produced and co-wrote with Rush Of Fools.
